Osmosis is the blistering and decomposition of the gelcoat and laminate which allows water to penetrate into the structure damaging the hull surface and lay up.
Below is a simplified process of events that take place during our procedures for osmosis treatments.
Lift the boat from the water
Peeling or grit blasting to remove gelcoat and prepare surface
Clean and dry hull
Apply primer to manufacturers specification
Apply filler to re-build surface
Sand and profile
Apply the osmosis treatment coatings
Apply last coat of primer
Finish with antifoul
Re-launch
